About Us

As I've already established, there really is no "us" in Nine 10 Design unless you count my dog. But then, I don't have a dog so nevermind.

Basically, Greg Daniels is an artist and a designer at heart. I was the kid always drawing, building model airplanes and cars, learning magic, acting in community plays, etc. In fact, throughout my high school and college career, I spent more time formatting my papers to make them look perfect and visually appealing than I did actually writing them. After taking all the way up to Spanish IV in high school and acing every class, I grew bored and needed a challenge so I dropped Spanish IV my senior year and took an Art class. Upon high school graduation I was awarded an Art Scholarship to the local college.

I didn't think there was any money in being an "artist" (this was back in the early 90's) so I dropped the scholarship after one semester and went another direction, or should I say "directions". I ended up getting my degree in Finance. But long story short, I've done a lot of things in my life, including joining the Air Force and owning my own Mortgage Company, but looking back, I wish I had pursued art as a profession from the very beginning. It's what I keep going back to and it's my true passion.

Furthermore, I'm a husband, a father, a perfectionist, a realist, I enjoy the feeling of fresh clean sheets on my bed, I'm a fan of 80's music, I think Bandaids smell good, I really love perfect timing such as when your favorite song ends at the precise moment you pull into the driveway, I have an insatiable appetite for reading, I'm somewhat addicted to reality television, my computer is practically attached to my hip, I have a love/hate relationship with my Blackberry, and I prefer winter (or I should say winter in Florida).

I'm a completely self-taught designer. I began fiddling around with Photoshop a couple years ago and quickly became addicted to it. Shortly thereafter I began my love affair with Illustrator. Those have been my two primary tools of the trade.

Although it's not an exhaustive representation of my work, my portfolio should give you a taste of my skills and what I can do for you. If you have a specific idea in mind, let me know.
